Ill-Posed and Linear Inverse Problems
In this paper ill-posed linear inverse problems that arises in many applications is considered. The instability of special kind of these problems and it's relation to the kernel, is described. For finding a stable solution to these problems we need some kind of regularization that is presented. The results have been applied for a singular equation.
متن کاملSolving Inverse Problems Using an Em Approach to Density Estimation
This paper proposes density estimation as a feasible approach to the wide class of learning problems where traditional function approximation methods fail. These problems generally involve learning the inverse of causal systems, speciically when the inverse is a non-convex mapping. We demonstrate the approach through three case studies: the inverse kinematics of a three-joint planar arm, the ac...
متن کاملMaximum Likelihood Estimation in Log-linear
We study maximum likelihood estimation in log-linear models under conditional Poisson sampling schemes. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of the model parameters and investigate estimability of the natural and mean-value parameters under a nonexistent MLE. Our conditions focus on the role of sampling zeros in the observed table...

متن کاملNon-linear inverse geothermal problems
The inverse geothermal problem consist of estimating the temperature distribution below the earth’s surface using temperature and heat-flux measurements on the earth’s surface. The problem is important since temperature governs a variety of the geological processes including formation of magmas, minerals, fosil fuels and also deformation of rocks. Mathematical this problem is formulated as a Ca...
